Installation & Setup

  1. Download Ledger Live from ledger.com/ledger-live/download.
  2. Run the installer and follow on-screen prompts.
  3. Connect your Ledger device via USB (or via USB-C / adapter on some mobiles with OTG).
  4. Create a new wallet or restore using your recovery phrase — never share your recovery phrase with anyone.
  5. Check for firmware updates and install only official firmware from Ledger.

Troubleshooting

Try a different USB cable or port. Make sure the device is unlocked (enter PIN). On desktop, ensure Ledger Live is up-to-date and try reinstalling drivers if prompted. See Ledger Support.

Open the Manager in Ledger Live, check for firmware updates, and update only via official prompts. Backup your recovery phrase before any major changes.

Ensure Bluetooth is enabled and pairing is accepted on the device (some Ledger models support Bluetooth). Use the official mobile app and follow the in-app pairing guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Ledger Live itself is an interface — private keys never leave your Ledger device. Always use official downloads and verify your recovery phrase is kept offline and secure.

Ledger Live requires a Ledger device for signing transactions and managing private keys. The app alone is not a full wallet without the hardware device.
